If you want to improve your fitness and perfect your technique then it's time to join our squads. The sessions run for one hour at convenient times for juniors through to adults.
Once all four strokes ( freestyle, backstroke, breastroke (100m minimum) and butterfly (50m min) have been successfully accomplished, swimmers may be able to join our junior squads. These are held every afternoon Monday to Friday, and several mornings before school (according to availability).
The Coach: Peter Dale (Olympian and Gold & Silver Commonwealth Medalist) coaches our squads, and the focus is on improving fitness, endurance, style and technique. Sessions run for one hour and swimmers are grouped together with other swimmers of the same level of achievement.
Peter not only achieved at the highest level in competitive swimming, but was also a member of Coolum Surf Lifesaving Club competing at State level (current bronze medallion Marcoola Surf Lifesaving Club), so he has the ability and knowledge to coach swimmers to help them to achieve their very best in any aquatic environment. Our swimmers frequently take top positions in their school carnivals and at state trials, but we also have an excellent roll call of swimmers who have taken out trophies at Surf Carnivals all over the sunshine coast and beyond.
- Adult Squad swimmers of all levels come to improve their times, fitness and endurance in a fun friendly environment. You don't have to be a swimming star to come along, maybe you just want to make your nine minute 400m for your surf bronze, you can work at your own pace (although it is not Learn to Swim, and you will want to clock up a kilometre or so per session). Some of our swimmers want to take part in triathlons, others just swim for their own fitness, whatever the reason, come and try it out and keep in shape.
